Pretty
So today was pretty much shot. Had trouble focusing on schoolwork today thanks to aforementioned boy problems. However, Anna, Anne, and her two cousins Amy and Dana came into town, and that pretty much changed everything :). Thanks girls.
We met at La Cantera shortly after I got out of gross lab. I decided to cut my hair. I pretty much hacked it off, roughly five inches. The stylist was gay (of course) and named Dirk, more tranny than gay, he had long manicured nails and drawn in eyebrows. Loved him. We chit-chatted about how there are pretty much NO good looking people in San Antonio, except for the ones I go to med school with. He was really sweet to me. I love the hairdo. It's still long enough for me to pull back and do the way I usally did when it was long, but its so much lighter and easier to take care of. I pretty much had no time to do it because of medical school. Cutting your hair is also the number one thing a girl does after she breaks up with somebody. Go figure.
Besides getting some fabulous hair, we were paid the ultimate compliment. The guy at the salon asked me and the other girls to be in his fashion show with Macy's on September 16th. We pretty much told him "no" because of school and etc., and he was pretty bummed. I told him I could try to find some other med school girls to do it, and he asked "well are they hot like you???" "no"...he sighed and stormed off. Like all straight men, gay men do not like it when they don't get their way. Men are men, no matter what kind of fancy package (couture, queenery, makeup, other guys) that you put them in.
Then, we were off to the riverwalk to eat at this really shi-shi restaurant called Paesono's. It was REALLY good. I had the meditteranean salad with grilled salmon. Delish. It was probably the best place I've eaten at since I moved to San Antonio. It was really healthy, I noticed there were no overweight people in there. Hah. the irony.
So, lesson for today? Life goes on. I am still young, still attractive (I'm pretty sure about this one at least), and as my tankmates noted, very capable of getting tail--not that I want any right now anyhow. I guess all those things I sort of knew, just needed someone to shake me out of my delirium and tell me. Life lesson learned:
Don't waste the pretty.
because life, is simply too short.
