Sushi-----por favor???

I never quite realized how "asian" I was, until today. My sister is in town for her Orthodontic School Interviews, and thus, I decided to take her out for some much desired sushi. As we are sadly in San Antonio, we drove 12 miles away to satiate our appetites. As we drove up to the first restaurant we realized that it was CLOSED. Not ready to settle for Tex-Mex, Mexican, or anything of the sort, we proceeded to go to two more sushi restaurants--both CLOSED. Is Sunday really Sabbath day in San Antonio????? Sigh.

I never realized how much I loved Asian food until I couldn't get it anymore. I took those days in Houston and Austin for granted--being able to eat anything at any time. One of my classmates who is also Vietnamese brought back a freezer-full of her mom's home made food. She offered to let me have some, not realizing that I'm a little garbage disposal. I quickly demolished the first 'weeks' worth of food in two days.

Although San Antonio is finally starting to grow on me...I really do miss home. I miss my parents, my dog, Asian food, and pretty much the culture that came with Houston--high crime rates and all. I can't wait to head back for the holidays.

San Antonio is not all bad...here are some photos from our nights of Med School Mayhem, enjoy!
